2-3 lb. cherries
1 1/2 lbs. sugar - white or brown |
2 cinnamon sticks, broken in pieces
peel from 1 small orange |
Remove the stem from the cherries and put in water to soak
over night. Wash cherries and put into a pot. Add sugar, cinnamon
and orange peel. Put on a medium fire and stir. Cook until
the cherries change color and the syrup is a little thick. Remove from
fire and serve when cool. |
